DISTRICT 8 CANDIDATE FORUM

The External Affairs Committee of the Silver Creek Valley Country Club Homeowners’ Association is pleased to announce a District 8 Candidate Forum to be held at the:

Silver Creek Valley Country Club, Main Dining Room
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 7PM.
Light refreshments provided by the SCVCC HOA.

Ms. Rose Herrera and Mr. Pat Waite received the highest number of votes in a field of candidates for election several months ago. Since neither Ms. Herrera nor Mr. Waite received a majority of the votes cast, there is to be a run-off election next month (November 2008). Ms. Herrera and Mr. Waite have accepted our invitation to this District 8 Candidate Forum.

This is our opportunity to hear answers to our questions put to the two candidates for the San Jose City Council from District 8. One of these candidates will represent our district at the San Jose City Council. Taxes, spending, safety (fire and police), traffic, roads, libraries, community development and redevelopment, schools, and parks are some of the issues of interest and concern to us.

Often, the community that shows the highest interest and involvement will get the most attention from government. Let’s show our representative-to-be that the Silver Creek Valley Country Club community is interested, informed, and involved. This is how we will get the most attention to our points of view.

Bill Stearns, Chairman External Affairs Committee
Secretary, SCVCC HOA BOD
